Fewer hellos on new horizons
Happy New Year, my fellow foxes and bees! How was your celebration? Any New Year’s resolutions you’re excited to tackle? I had a night in with bae and the kids (see them cuddled up on the couch below). We did bao buns with Korean BBQ chicken, pickled carrots and radish and spicy mayo, then binge watched One Punch Man; all in all, the perfect way to ring in the new year!
Despite the general tragedy and disappoint that defined 2016 on a grand scale, the year was pretty awesome for me—namely, I finally got to start a food blog, which has long been a dream of mine. I have lots of exciting stuff planned for the Fox & the Bee in the coming months, but first, I need to make an announcement.
My current bill-paying job is as a project manager for a veterinary hospital. Project management (especially for a small business) is lots of fun—the scope of projects you get to work on is varied and interesting, and there are always new challenges to overcome. If you’re a lover of lateral thinking and problem solving, you should definitely consider project management for a career!
Despite loving what I do, this blog has been my focus since fall of last year (when I dropped back to sort-of part time as project manager). However, I’ve been made an offer I can’t refuse to work as a project manager for a small start-up here in Louisville. For a myriad of reasons (both financial and otherwise :P), I need to stay with my current position while working in this new one, too.
Which means I will be putting in crazy work hours for the next few months while I make the gradual transition from one job to another! Because I strive to produce content of a certain quality, I know keeping up with my current posting schedule of every Monday and Friday would be nearly impossible. Therefore, for the next 6 months, I will post every other Monday, starting on April 3.
Phew! I took a long time to get to that, huh? Anyway, I hope you have an awesome new year! I look forward to sharing it with you 🙂
